SeasonalityAdults usually collected in July and August.IdentificationMember of the melanarius group, (subgenus Omaseus). Deep black, the appendages in part dark piceous. At once recognized by the denticulate hind-angles of the prothorax; basal fovea is bistriate, with a more or less pronounced tubercle in the center; lateral carina is strong. Elytral striae moderately deep with rudimensts of punctures, intervals moderately convex. Length 12 to 19 mm.
