A dupatta (shawl) made from tasar silk (Antheraea paphia). Label reads: "Dupatta or turban of tasar silk (Antheraea paphia = A. mylitta) that was handwoven in Odisha (formerly spelled Orissa). This is a vintage piece probably at least 20 to 30 years old, purchased by Richard S. Peigler in February 2018 from an internet dealer in New Dehli, who sells vintage textiles. The silk is hand-reeled and the natural color. Brocaded with ghicha-spun tasar silk. Price paid: US$19.99" Handwritten on the backside of the label is "The warps and wefts are reeled tasar, or possibly tussah (Antheraea pernyi). The brocade is spun mulberry silk (Bombyx mori)."
