Translation of the Chinese text: "Court vest chaogua, the first style, for the Empress Dowager and Empress/In accordance with the decree of the present dynasty:/The court vest of the Empress Dowager and Empress is azurite blue in colour, trimmed with gold bands. The vest is embroidered with patterns, including [at the top] two standing dragons on front and back . Below, the vest is pleated to the bottom. [text continued on left leaf, 2004.19.1.1.48]"
