She has been visiting artist at many universities including the Tokyo National University, Musashino University, Tokyo and the University of Applied Sciences in Münster, Germany. The human body and the elemental in nature are recurring subjects for her art practice.
In 1998 Ingram was elected into the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. In 2008 she received the J. Gordin Kaplan Award for Research Excellence at the University of Alberta and was inducted into the City of Edmonton Hall of Fame, in 2009 she was elected into the Royal Society of Canada for her contributions to Canadian culture, in 2011 she was awarded the University Cup (the University’s highest academic honour), and in 2016 she was appointed to the Order of Canada.
