Site Typehabitation DescriptionEarly Formative period site on Ecuador's coast which flourished beginning sometime before 3800 BC and lasting until c 1400 BC. Its pottery is among the oldest in the New World. Located on a low, tapering spur which emerges from the west end of the range of hills that form the southern boundary of the Valdivia valley. The town of San Pedro is close by to the south and the town of Valdivia is to the north. The site is approximately 100m from the Valdivia River.

Early Formative period site on Ecuador's coast which flourished beginning sometime before 3800 BC and lasting until c 1400 BC. Its pottery is among the oldest in the New World. Located on a low, tapering spur which emerges from the west end of the range of hills that form the southern boundary of the Valdivia valley.
