Borden NumberMjVl-1 Site Typevillage DescriptionLocated on the right bank of the Porcupine River in a grassy area that interrupts a more or less continous forest along the bank. A small outlet stream from a nearby lake borders the site to the west. Radiocarbon analyses provide dates ranging from approximately 2000 years BP to present, although the majority of the dates fall between approximately 1250 BP - 650 BP. Artifacts include both native and Euro-Canadian material remains such as stone and bone tools, bark and wood tools and implements, mineral pigments, metal artifacs and glass beads. Features include hearths, bone and refuse pits and stone concentrations. Major excavation by Richard Morlan in 1968 (See publications).
