DescriptionRyoji Ikeda, born in Nemuro, Japan in 1947, was educated and currently teaches at the Musashino Art University in Tokyo, Japan. Ikeda has compiled an extensive exhibition record for his prints since the late 1970s, winning many prestigious awards. Ikeda's work is represented in many private, corporate and public collections. Ikeda is credited with introducing the photo-etching printmaking process to Japanese artists. Ryoji Ikeda was a Distinguished International Artist in Residence in the Printmaking Division of the Department of Art and Design at the University of Alberta from Oct. 1997 to Sept. 1998. Ikeda has compiled an extensive exhibition record for his prints since the late 1970s, winning many prestigious awards. Ikeda's work is represented in many private, corporate and public collections. Ikeda is credited with introducing the photo-etching printmaking process to Japanese artists.
