Life History Unknown. The short wings, robust body, dark color and reduced eyes are adaptations to a day-flying habit (Munroe 1976). Conservation Uncommon. Probably of no concern. Diet Info The larvae should be looked for on species of Rumex and Polygonum growing in wet places Munroe (1976). Range

Newfoundland and Maine west to Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Yukon (Munroe 1976). Type Locality St. Martin's Falls, Albany River, Ontario, as Scopula marginalis. In Alberta, reported from Areas 8 (Red Deer), 10 (Edmonton, Wabamun) and 20 (Nordegg) by Bowman (1951) as Pyrausta marginalis.
