Euschistus s. euschistiodes occurs on many different host plants: grains, fruits, flowers, grasses and trees (McPherson 1982). Under lab conditions this subspecies was observed feeding on the larvae of the cabbage butterfly, Pieris rapae (Culliney 1985).
