Scientific Name Laccornis conoideus Notes

There are two species of Laccornis reported from Alberta, Laccornis pacificus Leech and Laccornis conoideus (LeConte), the photo specimen, which is about 5 mm in length. Specimens of both species are found in ponds (some going dry by July), having lots of vegetation (Larson 1975, pages. 326-327). Photograph: From page 388 of Clifford, Hugh F. 1991.
