SeasonalityAdults collected during the summer months (no Alberta specimens available). IdentificationMember of the amethystinus group, (subgenus Hypherpes). Pure black, mouthparts, antennae and tarsi more or less piceous. Prothorax with area between inner basal impression and side margin almost flat, the outer impression indistinct; sinuation of sides oftern faint, basal angles obtuse to right. Elytra coalescent along suture, with evident shoulder tooth. Length 13.5 to 15.5 mm.
