SeasonalityAdults collected from May to September. IdentificationMember of the corvinus group, (subgenus Omaseus). Very convex. Deep black, shiny, appendages slightly paler. Prothorax only moderately constricted at base, hind-angles almost right, blunt, basal foveae deep, more or less punctate, lateral carina strong. Elytral striae finely punctate with convexity, depth and intervals, respectively, the former finely punctate. Length 11.5 to 15 mm.

Member of the corvinus group, (subgenus Omaseus). Very convex. Deep black, shiny, appendages slightly paler. Prothorax only moderately constricted at base, hind-angles almost right, blunt, basal foveae deep, more or less punctate, lateral carina strong. Elytral striae finely punctate with convexity, depth and intervals, respectively, the former finely punctate. Length 11.5 to 15 mm.
Life History Larvae are fully grown around the beginning of June. Immature beetles collected from June to August. Conservation Moderately common. Diet Info Both larvae and adults are predatory. Range This species is recorded from the northern half of United States, and most of Canada. In Alberta this species has been collected only in the east-central region.
