SeasonalityAdults collected May to September. IdentificationMember of the adstrictus group, (subgenus Bothriopterus). Closely allied to P. adstrictus but at once recognized on the body proportions; the elytra are both shorter and narrower as compared with the prothorax and have more rounded sides. The bronzy luster is usually more pronounced, visible also in the female, in which the leytra are less dull; the legs are paler, notably the tibiae are more clear brown. Prothoax more convex, sides rounded to hind angles, lateral depression hardly widened basad; the convexity separating basal fovea from side margin more pronounced, being a direct continuation of the disc. Elytral striae usually stronger, more or less evidently punctulate, intervals as a rule somewhat convex; dorsal punctures as well as those of 8th stria somewhat less foveate. Antennal cleaner of fore-tibia with 2 clip setae. Length 9.5 to 12 mm.
