SeasonalityAdults collected May to August. IdentificationBlack without metallic hue, appendages and base of antennae black. Prothorax short with rather coarse lateral bead, sides not or barely sinuate before the minutely prominent, about right hind-angles; outer basal fovea delimited externally by a strong keel-like convexity. Elytral striae minutely but usually evidently punctulate, intervals mkre or less convex; three to five, rarely two or six, often irregularly placed dorsal punctures.

Prothorax short with rather coarse lateral bead, sides not or barely sinuate before the minutely prominent, about right hind-angles; outer basal fovea delimited externally by a strong keel-like convexity. Life History No information available. Conservation Common. Diet Info Both larvae and adults are predatory. Range This species is found in north-central United States and south-central Canada on the prairie. In Alberta this species is recorded from the southern region and near Edmonton.
