SeasonalityAdults collected May to October. IdentificationSmall and slender. Black, entire upper surface with greenish or bluish lustre, often more developed laterally; appendages hardly paler, except that the three basal segments of antennae are rufous. Antennae with more poorly developed carina at base than in the other two species in this group. Prothorax with sides clearly sinuate before the about right, or slightly obtuse, hind angles; outer latero-basal foveae so close to side margin that the interlying convexity is like a carina. Elytra with at least outer striae punctulate, intervals more or less convex, 2 dorsal punctures behind middle. Metepisterna with impressed line parallel with side margin. Length 8.5 to 11.5 mm.

Life History No information available. Conservation Relatively common. Diet Info Both larvae and adults predatory. Range This species is recorded from the western half of United States and Canada. In Alberta this species is recorded from the southeastern one third.
