SeasonalityFound through May to September. IdentificationWorkers are ~2.5-5.5 mm in length, with a dusky red head, red-brown thorax and dark red gaster (Wheeler and Wheeler, 1963). Scapes lack hair except for a small cluster at their distal tip and numerous erect hairs cover the body (Wheeler and Wheeler, 1963).

Life History Not known. Conservation Not of concern. Diet Info Omnivorous, will kill and eat insects, take plant secretions, and farm aphids, coccids, membracids, and cicadellids. Range Kansas and Colorado to North Dakota and Alberta (Wheeler and Wheeler, 1963).
