SeasonalityUndocumented. IdentificationBody length varies from 1.6 to 2.3mm, and is dark brown except for antennal segment 3, the tibiae, and the tarsi, which are lighter. The cheeks are arched and indented just behind the eyes. Ocellar setae pair 1 is absent, pair 2 is on either side of the anterior ocellus, and pair 3 is long and between the posterior ocelli. The posteroangular setae are 0.10 to 0.11mm long, and there are usually 3 pairs of posteromarginal setae. Forewing has 3 distal setae, and the abdomen lacks accessory sternal setae. Tergite 8 has a complete comb with teeth as much as 5 times as long as their distance apart. Tergite 9 has 4 pores. Males have glandular areas on sternites 3 to 7. The glandular area is transverse, and elongate-oval on sternite 3, and more circular on the remaining sternites (O'Neill and Bigelow, 1964).
