Antennal segments 6 and 8 are dark brown, and segments 3 and the basal two thirds of segments 4 and 5 are yellow. The sense cones on antennal segments 3 and 4 are forked. Forewings are narrow and brown in color, with pale areas near the base and apex of the wing. Venal setae are long and dark (Wilson, 1975).

This species is phytophagous (Mound and Marullo, 1996) and feeds on the leaves of numerous greenhouse plants including tomato, Brassia sp., sugar beet, philodendron, Easter lily, banana, begonia and orchid (Chiasson, 1986).
