SeasonalityAdults have been collected from 10 May to 25 July. IdentificationMedium-sized black species with reddish-brown elytra and legs. The posterior margin of the hypomeron is not notched beside the hind angles of the pronotum. Setae on the pronotum are arranged in a whorled pattern, but those on the elytra are not. Length is between 8.5 and 11 mm.

Medium-sized black species with reddish-brown elytra and legs. The posterior margin of the hypomeron is not notched beside the hind angles of the pronotum. Setae on the pronotum are arranged in a whorled pattern, but those on the elytra are not. Length is between 8.5 and 11 mm.
Life History Larvae live in needle duff, and appear to be opportunistic predators. Conservation Uncommon. Range Boreal forests from Peace River and Rocky Mountain House eastward; also Cypress Hills. In North America, from Alberta and the former Northwest Territories east to Nova Scotia and south to Massachusetts and Indiana.
