SeasonalityAdults can be found from mid-July to the end of August.
IdentificationAdult antennae are dark brown and the vertex of the head is almost black. Spurs are dark brown. In males, the basal article of the clasper is massive. The article is tapered and is about 4 times the size of the distal article. The distal article has a small hook at the upper corner (Nimmo, 1971).

Varies from small, pebble creeks to large, fast, rocky rivers.

Diet Info
Larvae are probably predacious.
Range
The range extends from Alberta, south to Colorado and California. In Alberta, it is mainly confined to the mountains and foothills (Nimmo, 1971).
