Spurs are almost black, shorter and stouter than most other Limnephilidae. Forewings are clear and tinted dark brown. In males, segment 10 process is short, directed slighty dorsad and uniform in width (Nimmo, 1971).

Life History Annual. Larvae pupate in late summer. Conservation Rare. Diet Info Larvae feed on Sphagnum, insect larvae and crustaceans (Wiggins, 1996). Range The known range of this species extends from Alberta and North West Territories to New Brunswick and New Hampshire. In Alberta, it is known from Nordegg and Rock Lake road NW of Hinton (Nimmo, 1971)
