Adult antennae are reddish brown and the vertex of the head is reddish brown. Spurs are darker reddish brown. Forewings are dull greyish brown. In males, postero-ventral angle of tergum 8 is developed as a broad lobe with dense black spines (Nimmo, 1971).
Life History Annual? Prepupal larvae aestivates in substrate for about 1 to 6 months. Adults emerge in July to October. Conservation Rare. Diet Info Larvae are detritovores and shredders. Range The range for this species extends from Washington State, east to Newfoundland, North Carolina and possibly Georgia. IN Alberta, it occurs in the plains region (Nimmo. 1971).
