SeasonalityAdults fly form mid-June to mid-September. IdentificationAdult antennae are dark brown and the vertex of the head is dark reddish brown in triangular area between three ocelli. Spurs are reddish brown. Forewings are dark chocolate brown and heavily irrorate. In males, the clasper is massive with a ventral base and there is a slender, acuminate process at the postero-dorsal angle. The cercus is a low setose mound (Nimmo, 1971).

Life History Annual? Larvae will pupate in late spring. The larval cases are often snail shell-like. Conservation Common. Diet Info No information available. Range The range for this species extends from Great Slave Lake to Oregon, Colorado and Minnesota. In Alberta, it occurs in the plains and low mountain valleys (Nimmo, 1971).
