SeasonalityAdults fly from mid-June to early October. IdentificationAdult antennae are yellow-brown and the vertex of the head is chocolate-brown with lighter warts. Spurs are yellow. Forewings are light brown with hyaline clear areas. In males, the posterior edge of tergum 8 is developed downwards as an elongated bulge between the cerci. Claspers are shaped like very elongated acute triangles (Nimmo, 1971).

Life History Annual? Conservation Common. Diet Info Larvae are detritovores. Range This species is Holarctic in distribution, extending from Alaska, south to Oregon and east to Québec and New England. In Alberta, it occurs in the mountains (Nimmo, 1971).
