SeasonalityAdults fly from late May to mid-July. IdentificationAdult antennae are dark brown with darker scapes. Vertex of the head is black and the spurs are dark yellow. Forewings are pale chocolate-brown and the costal area is clear. In males, the clasper is small, directed posterad and with a ventral base. Cercus extremity is directed mesad as a thin blade (Nimmo, 1971).

Adult antennae are dark brown with darker scapes. Vertex of the head is black and the spurs are dark yellow. Forewings are pale chocolate-brown and the costal area is clear. In males, the clasper is small, directed posterad and with a ventral base. Cercus extremity is directed mesad as a thin blade (Nimmo, 1971).
Life History Annual? Conservation Common. Diet Info Larvae are detritovores. Range The range for this species extends from Alaska, south to Washington, Colorado and east to New York and Labrador. In Alberta, it is confined to the major lower mountain valleys, lower foothills and plains (Nimmo, 1971).
