SeasonalityAdults fly from late July to mid-September. IdentificationAdult antennae are reddish brown with darker scapes. Vertex of the head is dark brown between the ocelli and posterad edge. Spurs are reddish. Forewings are grey-brown with darker areas near the posterior edge. In males, the ventral base of the clasper is narrow and high. The process is almost rectangular with incised extremity. Segment 10 processes are clearly exposed ventrad of the cercus. Dorsal edge of the cercus is curved meso-ventrad and shaped like a large spine (Nimmo, 1971).

Life History Annual? Conservation Not common. Diet Info Larvae are detritovores. Range This species range extends from Alberta and Saskatchewan, south to Idaho and Colorado. In Alberta, it occurs in central and southern plains and the lower foothills (Nimmo, 1971).
