Common NameStriated Tortrix SeasonalityLate June to July. IdentificationThe adult is unmistakeable because of the characteristic forewing pattern. The forewing is entirely striated with dark grey and white streaks that trend towards the outer edges of the wing. The hindwing is dark grey and the remainder of the body is normally dull white. The larva is similar to A. alberta but has a paler head and the thoracic shield is pale, bordered with dark brown (MacKay 1962).

The adult is unmistakeable because of the characteristic forewing pattern. The forewing is entirely striated with dark grey and white streaks that trend towards the outer edges of the wing. The hindwing is dark grey and the remainder of the body is normally dull white. The larva is similar to A. alberta but has a paler head and the thoracic shield is pale, bordered with dark brown (MacKay 1962).
Life History The life history is not reported for this rarely seen species, but likely feeds amongst spruce foliage. Conservation Not commonly collected but probably of no concern. Diet Info Black Spruce (Picea mariana) & White Spruce (P. glauca) (Razowski 1977). Range Throughout boreal Canada from British Columbia to Nova Scotia, south to New Hampshire and Wisconsin.
