SeasonalityIn Alberta the adults fly in September. IdentificationThe acutely-pointed forewing is grey with dark grey banding present in the median and antemedian areas. Fine dark grey to black lines prominently border the dark bands and a faintly visible between bands and towards the apex. A yellowish blotch is present on the costal half of the basal area and a globose whitish mark is present in the centre of the wing just beyond the median band. The hindwing is pale brownish grey.

The acutely-pointed forewing is grey with dark grey banding present in the median and antemedian areas. Fine dark grey to black lines prominently border the dark bands and a faintly visible between bands and towards the apex. Poorly known but in other species of this genus the larvae feed in the spring and go into a pupal diapause through the drier parts of the summer. Pupation occurs in leaf litter or in the soil within a cocoon which is unusual for the subfamily Tortricinae. The ovipositor is modifed to scrape up debris and deposit it on the eggs. (Powell 1980)
Conservation Not of concern. Diet Info Some specimens have been reared from gooseberry (Ribes sp.) (Powell 1980) Range So far only known from Canada; from the Northwest Territories and British Columbia, east to Quebec. Notes This species grades into D. horarianus. (Powell 1980)
