SeasonalityThe adult is active from the end of June to mid August in Alberta. IdentificationThe acutely-pointed forewing is shiny and pure white. The hindwing is light grey. The larva is grey with yellowish brown head and brown to black prothoracic and anal shields, and thoracic legs. (Razowski 2002)

Scientific Name Eana argentana Habitat Most high-elevation open habitats. Seasonality The adult is active from the end of June to mid August in Alberta. Identification The acutely-pointed forewing is shiny and pure white. The hindwing is light grey. The larva is grey with yellowish brown head and brown to black prothoracic and anal shields, and thoracic legs. (Razowski 2002) Life History The first instar larva hibernates in a silken shelter and resumes feeding in the spring until June. It feeds in silken tubes amongst roots and under rocks. Conservation Not of concern. Diet Info The larva feeds on various grasses and shrubs. (Razowski 2002) Range This Holarctic species is found from the Yukon and British Columbia east to Manitoba and south to Wyoming. (Obraztsov 1962)
