IdentificationSuperficially similar to Ctenucha virginica, but the wings are much narrower, and smaller overall.

Prefers open jack pine uplands in the boreal forest.

Superficially similar to Ctenucha virginica, but the wings are much narrower, and smaller overall.
Life History
Adults are active by day, and can often by found nectaring at goldenrod (Solidago) flowers. Also attracted to ultraviolet light.
Conservation
Widespread, although not common
Diet Info
Grasses, lichens and Eleocharis (Handfield, 1999).
Range
Widespread throughout most of North America, north to Ft. Smith, N.W.T.
