Black with metallic lustre, upper surface dull from dense microsculpture; much varying in color, from almost balck to bluish, green, coppery, or golden; ocellate foveae not contrasting. Head without central fovea. Male with four dilated protarsal segments. Length 7.8-11.2 mm.
Life History This species overwinters in the adult stage. Conservation Rare. Diet Info Both larvae and adults are predatory. Range This species if found in Alaska and northen Canada. In Alberta this species has only been collected in the south central foothills region.
