IdentificationElytron with a single preapical puncture; tibiae pale, reddish (except apex). Black with pronounced brassy (rarely bluish) lustre, 4 basal segments of antennae (at least beneath) and the tibiae (except apex) pale reddish. Length 4.7 to 5.4 mm.

On gravelly, rather dry ground, often moraine, with thin, low vegetation.

Range
This species is wide raging in both United States and Canada. In Alberta this species has been found centrally, and in the southeast and northeast corners of the province.
