IdentificationSmall to medium (7-9 mm in length) sized black click beetle trimmed with yellow-orange. The lateral margin and a basal spot on each elytron are yellow-orange, while the rest of the body is black. The prosternal mucro is short and abruptly curved upwards and the frontoclypeal carina is incomplete.

Life History
Larvae live in leaf litter.
Conservation
Common.
Range
Northern forested regions south to Kananaskis. In North America, northern transcontinental south to New York and Washington states.
