SeasonalityAdults have been collected between 19 May and 28 August. IdentificationMedium sized (11-14 mm in length), iridescent click beetle with few setae. The entire body is iridescent in this species, but colour ranges from purple to blue to green.

Scientific Name Ctenicera resplendens Habitat Boreomontane forest, prairie and parkland poplar groves. Seasonality Adults have been collected between 19 May and 28 August. Identification Medium sized (11-14 mm in length), iridescent click beetle with few setae. The entire body is iridescent in this species, but colour ranges from purple to blue to green. Life History Larvae live in leaf litter and rotting wood. Conservation Relatively common, but usually encountered as single specimens. Range Forested regions of Alberta including Cypress Hills. Elsewhere, from Alaska to Newfoundland, south to Pennsylvania and California, as two indistinct subspecies.
