IdentificationSmall black and yellow click beetle (6-8 cm in length) with up to four yellow spots on the elytra. The scutellum is heart-shaped, the pronotum lacks a complete lateral carina and the frontoclypeal carina is complete. Tarsal segments lack ventral lobes and tarsal claws lack setae.

Sandy areas in grasslands and boreal forest.

Life History
Larvae live in sand and are not considered agricultural pests.
Conservation
Common but localized in Alberta.
Range
East of the foothills in Alberta, east to Nova Scotia and south to Florida and Missouri.
