SeasonalityAdults have been collected only in June.
IdentificationThe first elytral stria complete, reaching from base to apex. Dark piceous to black, upper surface almost constantly with brassy (rarely bluish or greenish) lustre. Appendages are hardly paler; may be brown or reddish with dark knees in some Alaska specimens. Prothorax short, with sides strongly sinuate in basal half. Elytra with ten striae, the second abbreviated at apex, the ninth almost disappeared. Sixth interval, often catenate, with foveate setigerous punctures. Length 8.3 to 13 mm.

Habitat
Hygrophilus, close to water in sunny areas, on soft soils rich in organics; also above tree line.

Adults have been collected only in June.

Range
This species is found in Alaska and ranges across northern Canada. In Alberta this species has been collected only in the central regions.
