SeasonalityAdults have been collected from May to July.
IdentificationThe first elytral stria complete, reaching from base to apex. Larger than borealis, deep black throughout and very shiny; the entire body more heavily chitinized. Prothorax with sides less sinuate in basal half and more strongly reflexed, hind-angles produced as a small tooth. Elytral striae interrupted between the coarse punctures, dorsal foveae not conspicuous. Length 11.8 to 14.2 mm.

Overwinters in the adult stage.

A rare and local species.

Range
This species is restricted to and found across Canada, except Saskatchewan. In Alberta this species has been collected only in the central regions and the north west corner of the province..
