LeavesSeveral; 2-4 mm wide (Moss, 1983). Linear; shorter than flowering stem; margins entire or have small teeth; no stem leaves (E-Flora BC). FlowersUmbel nodding; perianth segments 4-6 mm long; elliptical; pink or white; exserted stamen (Moss, 1983). 6 tepals; egg-shaped; 6 stamens (E-Flora BC). Fruits and SeedsCapsule; 6 high crests (Moss, 1983). Egg-shaped; 3 lobes; 6 black seeds (E-Flora BC).

Scientific Name Allium cernuum Roth Common Name nodding onion General Description A perennial herb that develops from a slender bulb and persistent, membranous rhizome; the flowering stem is 10-50 cm tall and arches at its tip to bear a cluster of pink or white flowers (Moss, 1983; E-Flora BC). Leaves Several; 2-4 mm wide (Moss, 1983). Linear; shorter than flowering stem; margins entire or have small teeth; no stem leaves (E-Flora BC).
