Pair of ankle rattles made from Rothschildia cincta cocoons. Label reads: "Pair of vintage dance rattles composed of cocoons of Rothschildia cincta (Saturniidae) made by the Seri tribe in northwestern Mexico. These ankle rattles probably date back to the 1970s or much earlier. Purchased by Richard S. Peigler in January 2018 from an internet seller in Anderson, California, by mail-order. Price paid was US$330.00, negotiated down from the original asking price of $450.00."
