A dupatta (shawl) made from silvered eri silk (Samia ricini). Label reads: "A dupatta handwoven of silvered eri silk (Samia ricini), made in Gopalpur, Jajpur District, Odisha (formerly spelled Orissa). Purhcased by mail-order directly from Mrs. Raghee Rath, in Bhubaneswar in December 2016 by Richard S. Peigler. She wrote that the silk came from Assam, and was then woven in Gopalpur. The ikat patterns include temple designs along the edges and lotis flowers, both typical of Odisha weaving. Gopalpuri ikat textiles have Geographical Indication® (GI) registration." Handwritten on the backside of the label is "The warp threads are reeled tasar silk (antheraea paphia = A. mylitta). The weft threads are all 100% eri silk silver."
