A scarf made from landibe silk (Borocera sp.). Label reads: "Scarf of landibe silk (Borocera sp.) handwoven in Madagascar. The yarns were handspun, and part of the silk is natural colored. Purchased by Richard S. Peigler in September 2014 directly by mail-order from Paul Wellhauser, a merchant in Toronto who imports African ethnographic artifacts. This scarf was made by Malagasy women in a cooperative, as a fair-trade and poverty alleviation venture. Price paid : US$65.00". Typed on the backside of the label is "This piece was figured in textile (magazine of The Textile Institute), 2016, Issue 2, page 24, in an article by James Travis & Richard Peigler."
