Shawl made from oak tasar silk (Antheraea proylei) Label reads: "Shawl of oak tasar silk (Antheraea proylei = A. pernyi x A. roylei), also called temperate tasar in India. The wefts are handspun oak tasar silk from Meghalaya, and the piece has wool warps and tassels. The silk is natural colored (undyed). The shawl was woven in Gujarat. Purchased in November 2018 by Richard S. Peigler from an internet seller in New Delhi. It measures 56 cm x 200 cm. Price Paid: US$54.00"
