Virtual Exhibition - Dragons on the Tibetan Plateau
University of Alberta Museums
The robe is thick and heavy and reveals the fabric belongs to an early Qing style. Crowded cloud patterns accumulate all over the robe. Eight gold brocaded dragons are upon the clouds, including four front-facing dragons on the top section (chest, back and shoulders) and four side-facing dragons on the lower section (front and back). Below the dragons, there are large curled waves, rocks in the middle and colourful striped waters along the hem.
