Used as a knife for food preparation. This is a very good example of a Synders point. These broadly corner notched, relatively thin, broadly ovate points are characteristic of the Havana Tradition and similar traditions in Missouri and Oklahoma. They are also found associated with contemporary cultures in Ohio. This cast replicates an original found in Calhoun County, Illinois and displays the sinuous edges of a knife. It was found on the Synders site and seems to be made of Burlington Chert.
