A small rectangular, dark wooden box with the brand name "Mandolinette" painted on the top. There are 18 metal buttons, numbered, in 2 rows on the top of the box. On the right end there is a crank that, when turned, produces sound from the instrument. There is a decorative border painted around the top of the instrument. There are several scratches and water marks on the top of the instrument.
