Short length of Point de France needlelace edging; Ground formed by picoted brides; at some intersectionc of the brides longer picots are made, giving the appearance of little seastars; Toile is made with closely spaced buttonhole stitches; the outlining element is a thicker yarn worked over with closely spaced buttonhole stitches, some times embellished with picots; decorative elements are formed by varying the spacing of buttonhole stitches; Scalloped edge features picoted cordonnet, the straight edges has a bobbinlace footing or 'engrelure'. Design features dainty scrolling flowers, oak leaves and a vase-like motif in a playful formate with relief.
