Black cape with pink lining. The closures are two hooks and eyes. Gathered lace trims the neck edge and a bow covers the fasteners at the front of the cape. Beadwork was used to outline the black, braided, scrolled embroidery. The embroidery radiates from the neck to the end. The cape was found in the donor's grandmother's trunk. Her grandmother emigrated in 1876 to South Dakota; the cape may have been brought from Norway. Worn by Karen Olson.
