Carrying cloth woven in two 21.5 cm widths on a backstrap loom. Broad warp faced patterned bands (3-5 cm) om a diamond design in red or burgundy and white. 5 solid soloured striped areas (2.5-4.0 cm) in pink, black or dark blue. Plain weave areas with fabric count (warp x filling) of 29 x 11 yarns/cm. Bordering each solid coloured band are a series of 7 or 8 narrow ribbon stripes. Centre seam of lliclla has; 2 rows of stitching, a Figure 8 stitch in blue, a palmada in diamond shaped Figure 8 stitch. Bands of 8 successive colours make up palmada. Some of the diamond designs in the patterned bands are embroidered over in various bright colours with acrylic yarn. Each of these represents a special event accordding to the sellers of the piece. 2 rows of green and white rick-rack braid around the outer edge are status symbols. Commercially produced braid indicates the villager has "been to town". Blue acrylic ribbon binding edge similar to that of hair ribbons. Weaver has incorporated her name and message on either side of centre seam- CEMONA ARONE/CHOUE DI ALANQ.
