Rectangular cloth of bright turquoise, pink, green, and yellow vertical stripes and patterned bands. Plain weave, warp faced fabric. Patterns in narrrow vertical bands are formed by warp floats. Terminal weaving band,…
Rectangular cloth of bright turquoise, pink, green, and yellow vertical stripes and patterned bands. Plain weave, warp faced fabric. Patterns in narrrow vertical bands are formed by warp floats. Terminal weaving band, 18.0 cm deep on one side, 2.5 cm on other. Solid maroon coloured plain weave cotton ribete, machine stitched around perifery of manta. Only one finished edge. Filling yarns in terminal areas inserted with a needle. Palmada covers centre seam. Palmada done in a Figure 8 stitch. Fabric count, (warp x fill), 52 x 11 yarns/cm. Worked on a backstrap loom by Elena Nunez Medina's father.
