Handwoven white cotton huipil (woman's traditional tunic or blouse, of Maya origin) made in three panels. Machine sewn with black thread. Torso area has yellow and purple wefts forming plain bands and bands with…
Handwoven white cotton huipil (woman's traditional tunic or blouse, of Maya origin) made in three panels. Machine sewn with black thread. Torso area has yellow and purple wefts forming plain bands and bands with geometric motifs. Round neckline edge finished with white machine-made lace, a narrow band of sheer white material overlaid with pink ribbon. Stars made of small lengths of pink, light blue and purple ribbon sewn with yellow thread on front and back of huipil. Armholes are bound with yellow ribbon overlaid with light blue ribbon and trimmed with machine-made lace.
